This theory belongs to the larger sociological theories of crime. As mentioned earlier, sociological theories of crime try to establish a link between criminal behavior and the environment in which the individual grew up in or his or her interactions with other members of the society (McLaughlin Newburn, 2010). The basic tenet of sociological theories is that everyone has the potential of being a criminal depending on their interaction with groups and other social institutions (McLaughlin Newburn, 2010). The actions of the society reinforces criminal behavior upon an individual either through; institutional interactions or how the society shapes the perspective of an individual. Consequently, the constant exposure to criminal thought and behavior leads a person to learn traits that are favorable to crime.To this extent, the labeling theory has to do with the characteristics that the society prescribes to an individual. The societys definition of a person plays a significant role in the formation of a persons identity (Tibbetts Hemmens, 2010). If the society labels an individual to be deviant and consequently stigmatizes that individual, there is a high probability that they will end up being criminals. It is important to note that the society labels an individual with the aim to shun deviant behavior but ironically the person becomes what labeling was meant to deter. The theory is also not simplistic and one-way as many people believe it to be. It is multi-dimensional i.e. it examines how people control how others view them and how they react to labels. Therefore, labeling theory hypothesizes that a persons criminal behavior is directly and substantially affected by the labeling experience (Tibbetts Hemmens, 2010).Relationship between Parental Incarceration and Delinquency as explained by the TheoryLabeling theory assumes that childre n of incarcerated parents are labeled as criminals and stigmatized by the society due to the status of their parents. For example, young children are most likely to call names to their colleagues whose parents have been incarcerated and refuse to play with them. This isolation and stigmatization which these children are exposed to at a very young age has a severe effect in the identity formation and is most likely to lead in deviant behavior (Tibbetts Hemmens, 2010). 1960s Social Trends Critical Thinking

Civil war is mainly a war betwixt two organized groups which are just within the same nation or betwixt two countries which may have been formed from a previously-united nation where the aim of one side is to take control of other country or a certain region which can also result in changing the government policies. The African American civil rights movement was a kind of series reform movement which its aim was to protest against the emerging racial discrimination against the people whom their origin was African American. As a result of this racial discrimination, there emerged a group of some African American leaders who were aggrieved at the racist and discriminatory practices meted to them.   They organized themselves to carry out remonstration rallies which ended up becoming the voice of African American and as well a historic movement in American history. Among the protesters was Martin Luther king, Thurgood Marshall and students from North Carolina Agricultural and Technology College. These students were protesting against the Vietnam War and as well against the fleeting of the most superior civil rights laws. There protest started when a group of black students went and ordered a coffee and the waitress refused to serve them unless they take their coffee while standing since the counter was only fated for the white. This behavior pressured the students and they decided to have a peaceful protest which was copied by other students from different parts of the country where they even formed a protesting organization referred as Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) and many other forces were joined by different members and even emerged different forces like Equality Congress of Racial (CORE) which fault for the congress of racial equity. The act of in equality and discrimination is shown by the student who was called James tried to join the Mississippi University where the officials caused obstacles which resulted to the signing of a major civil rights bill in the year 1964 which prohibited discrimination accounting of origin, gender, complexion and race among others. This act was not emblazed at first by many people as it was like a hide and sick game for both parties the black and the white since after the white managed to buy cars, they could not give seats to the white and its after them being arrested they become used to and at last the case of discrimination was overcome in 1968 where the civil Rights banned discrimination in the rental and also sales of houses. In conclusion, the 1960s Civil was the best that one could be involved in since it resulted to fruitful result and it was one of the peaceful protest. It did not give room to discrimination as both parties came to be used to each other. On the other side, if there were no protests for the black, there resulting behaviors like Restriction for the black, no chances could be given to the black well the black could have become slaves even in there own home and therefore this civil protest helped ones life in having a peaceful and a non-racism countries.

The Role of Bushido in Modern Japan

Bushido, or the way of the warrior, is commonly defined as the moral and behavioral code of the samurai. It is often considered a foundation stone of Japanese culture, both by Japanese people and by outside observers of the country. What are the components of bushido, when did they develop, and how are they applied in modern Japan? Controversial Origins of the Concept It is difficult to say exactly when bushido developed. Certainly, many of the basic ideas within bushido—loyalty to ones family and ones feudal lord (daimyo), personal honor, bravery and skill in battle, and courage in the face of death—have likely been important to samurai warriors for centuries. Amusingly, scholars of ancient and medieval Japan often dismiss bushido and call it a modern innovation from the Meiji and Showa eras. Meanwhile, scholars who study Meiji and Showa Japan direct readers to study ancient and medieval history to learn more about the origins of bushido. Both camps in this argument are right, in a way. The word bushido and others like it did not arise until after the Meiji Restoration—that ​is, after the samurai class was abolished. It is useless to look at ancient or medieval texts for any mention of bushido. On the other hand, as mentioned above, many of the concepts included in bushido were present in Tokugawa society. Basic values such as bravery and skill in battle are important to all warriors in all societies at all times, so presumably, even early samurai from the Kamakura period would have named those attributes as important. The Changing Modern Faces of Bushido In the lead-up to World War II, and throughout the war, the Japanese government pushed an ideology called imperial bushido on the citizens of Japan. It emphasized Japanese military spirit, honor, self-sacrifice, and unwavering, unquestioning loyalty to the nation and to the emperor.   When Japan suffered its crushing defeat in that war, and the people did not rise up as demanded by imperial bushido and fight to the last person in defense of their emperor, the concept of bushido seemed to be finished. In the post-war era, only a few die-hard nationalists used the term. Most Japanese were embarrassed by its connections with the cruelty, death, and excesses of World War II. It seemed like the way of the samurai had ended forever. However, beginning in the late 1970s, Japans economy began to boom. As the country grew into one of the major world economic powers in the 1980s, people within Japan and outside of it once again began to use the word bushido. At that time, it came to mean extreme hard work, loyalty to the company that one worked for, and devotion to quality and precision as a sign of personal honor. News organizations even reported on a sort of company-man seppuku, called karoshi, in which people literally worked themselves to death for their companies.   CEOs in the west and in other Asian countries started to urge their employees to read books touting corporate bushido, in an attempt to replicate Japans success. Samurai stories as applied to business, along with Sun Tzus  Art of War  from China, became best-sellers in the self-help category. When the Japanese economy slowed into stagflation in the 1990s, the meaning of bushido in the corporate world shifted once again. It began to signify the peoples brave and stoic response to the economic downturn. Outside of Japan, the corporate fascination with bushido quickly faded. Bushido in Sports Although corporate bushido is out of fashion, the term still crops up regularly in connection with sports in Japan.  Japanese baseball coaches refer to their players as samurai, and the international soccer (football) team is called Samurai Blue. In press conferences, the coaches and players regularly invoke bushido, which is now defined as hard work, fair play, and a fighting spirit. Perhaps nowhere is bushido more regularly mentioned than in the world of martial arts. Practitioners of judo, kendo, and other Japanese martial arts study what they consider to be the ancient principles of bushido as part of their practice (the antiquity of those ideals is debatable, of course, as mentioned above). Foreign martial artists who travel to Japan to study their sport usually are particularly devoted to an ahistorical, but very appealing, version of bushido as a traditional cultural value of Japan. Bushido and the Military The most controversial usage of the word bushido today is in realm of the Japanese military, and in political discussions around the military. Many Japanese citizens are pacifists, and deplore the use of rhetoric that once led their country into a catastrophic global war. However, as troops from Japans Self-Defense Forces increasingly deploy overseas, and conservative politicians call for increasing military power, the term bushido crops up more and more often. Home care workers work to a care plan which determines what they do for each service user. However there needs to be clear boundaries between the home care worker and the service user in being friendly and being a friend, otherwise this could lead to considerable emotional demands on the home care worker. There are a combination of factors why some are reluctant to use this service, as it requires ‘strangers’ going into the service users own home and carrying out personal care. Service users can also get very frustrated with home care as there are frequent changes in staff and some are even poorly trained. The service can be unreliable due to staff sickness or not receiving a call due to adverse conditions, leaving the service user stranded. However there are a majority of service users that enjoy home care as it is delivered in the comfort of their own homes, takes pressure off families and can even postpone or stop the need to go in hospital or care homes. If such emotions do arise it is important for the health care professionals to support them and encourage them to communicate their concerns straight away, otherwise this can have a long term effect on how they and their families manage their illness, thus helping to improve a erson’s health for the see able future. However biomedical science is not enough to encourage people to administer their own care.
